This 5-day course is designed to familiarize the participants with the features and terminology of batch processes, the engineering methodology for automating a batch plant, and the implementation of batch control and recipe management on CENTUM VP batch platform.
· Application/ process engineers responsible for the design, implementation, or application maintenance of a CENTUM VP batch control system.
· Participants should preferably have attended CENTUM VP Engineering course.

· Introduction on characteristics & control requirement of
batch processes
· ISA S88.01 Batch Control Models & terminology
· General Batch Control Engineering Methodology
· Overview of CENTUM VP batch packages
· Laboratory work: Familiarization with an automated recipe
· Step-by-step activities involved in configuring CENTUM VP batch
· Laboratory work: Simultaneous execution of multiple batches

· Derivation of Batch Operations from a Recipe
· Concept of SFC Sequences, Operations & Phases Operation of SFC Function Blocks
· Basics of SEBOL Batch Control Language
· Laboratory work: Building SFC sequences, Operation SFC Instruments
Day 4
· Concept of Process Management
· Batch Plant Trains and Paths
· Laboratory work: Building trains and paths
· Concept of Master Recipe
· Laboratory work: Building a master recipe
· Overview of Batch Operation & Monitoring Screens
